This week at the shelter…

We had a few adoptions this week, firstly Pepino,  who was only with us a few days (her family couldn’t afford to feed her anymore so sadly she had to come to us),

Then another very short  term  visitor Grizelda found herself leaving sunny Playa for the frozen tundra of Alberta Canada ,We are sure she will soon adapt to the cold as she really didn’t seem to enjoy the heat.

Then mid week this lovely local family came by to adopt a puppy and they ended up taking two!!

We also managed to find a home for Manny. We were really happy about this as Manny like so many cast off pets wasn’t really suited to the shelter environment.

But as usual, when one goes another always seems to be waiting to take its place and this week was no different.  We had a couple of very sad cases.  ‘Oz’ who arrived with a nasty wound on his back (it is thankfully healing well) that he received from a machete (remember Pogo?), and like Pogo even after this vicious machete attack he is still a very sweet loving dog

Then came Angie that a friend found at a local gas station where someone had decided it was fun to spay paint  her, we managed to remove the paint and she has already began to put on weight (she was also very skinny) and again a very friendly girl.

And another sweet girl who come under the category of ¨what the hell were they thinking¨ is Aurelia who has senselessly had both of her ears cut down the middle !! (you can see it in this pic) Poor girl!

As usual we had puppies arrive, these little guys were so afraid when they came but after a week of cuddles and meeting all the dog wash helpers  they are starting to come around.

And lastly we had Soloman, who, when he arrived mid week he was the most timid dog we have ever seen but he seems to have attached himself to Aussie Gary and follows him everywhere while we do the daily clean up.

As always we thank each and every one of you for your help and support, we are only able to save lives like these because you care . - Andy and Jen
