Sad News: RIP Oscar
Our sweet beloved Oscar, who made such amazing strides in recovering his health and strength, suffered an alarming set-back a few days ago. He became unsteady on his legs and had moments of the vacant expression and lack of recognition/interest in his surroundings that was so apparent when he first arrived. - full article here

Peanut Pet Shelter only continues to survive and grow thanks to its wonderful supporters.
We have come so far in less than 3 years, but there is still so much work to do. Our streets are overrun with sick, starving, injured, sad and lonely dogs and cats. Disease and parasites which have virtually been wiped out in North America and Europe are surviving, flourishing and spreading here.

Hayley, Simply Amazing ! - more info
Most visitors to the shelter will remember Hayley. Poor Hayley has suffered from a chronic skin condition which caused her to lose all her hair, ever since she was a small pup. We have tried everything….

Our Latest Sad Rescue, Oscar - more info
Our latest PPS rescue is Oscar the Pit Bull who arrived today.
Named for the extremely kind man who has been feeding him and who alerted us to his plight, Oscar is a truly sad case. He is hungry, he has mange, fungus, open sores and parasites. His ears have been cropped so short as to be almost non-existent.
Worst of all, Oscar has given up hope.

Time for Change? - more info
The demise of our truck this week has left us having to walk to the shelter. While being without transport is inconvenient, especially as we rely upon it to be able to transport multiple big bags of dog food at a time and being unable to get to the vet (taxis won't take animals) is a huge problem, having to walk to the shelter is not that big a deal. It has however, served to remind us, once again, exactly why we do what we do.

Bernie the blood donor - more info
